THE TECHNOLOGY

What it is, and what it refuses to do.

Nacient does not put a chatbot in front of your child. The model generates the world their venture lives in, never the answers: students do not ask it questions, they make decisions, and it produces the consequences. A tutor speaks about the real world and can be wrong about it. A simulated market has no outside facts to get wrong: inside the venture's world, things are what the week's decisions made them.

Your system asks for reduced motion, so this page renders complete and still: the two-domain diagram stands drawn.

WHAT IT DOES

What it does, described as behaviour.

CONTINUITY

The world remembers. A pricing decision made in week three is still shaping conditions in week twenty-seven: a supplier treated badly stays wary, a market position built early keeps paying for itself or keeps costing, a reputation follows the venture into every later week.

Continuity is what separates a persistent world from a series of disconnected exercises, and it is the hard part of the engineering. Any of today's AI systems can write one plausible reply to one message. What takes real engineering is keeping each venture's whole history, and every consequence it has earned, consistent across a whole series, for every student at once. Most of the platform, the technology simulating the business world, exists to do exactly that.

DESIGN INTENT · IN BUILD · DESCRIBED AS DESIGNED, NOT AS DELIVERED

A single hand-thrown stoneware pour-over cone, empty and dry, with visible throwing rings. A fine dusting of dry coffee grounds sits inside it and a small scatter lies beside it.
THE VENTURE, MID-WEEK
INDIVIDUAL RESPONSE

Every student in the room runs a venture of their own, and the world answers each on its own terms. No staffing level can do this with people alone; a room where every student's world responded to them individually would need one adult per student.

CONSEQUENCE, NOT CORRECTION

The platform does not mark work right or wrong. It produces outcomes. A student learns a price was wrong because customers went elsewhere, and not because something told them so.

WHAT IT DOES NOT DO

What it never does.

01

It never contacts your child. No channel for it exists: no messages, no notifications, nothing that reaches out.

02

Your child cannot reach it outside the workshop window; a request outside the window is met only by the venture's world, and there is no partial access.

03

It is not trained on student work. One bar, internal and external: no outside model trains on student work, and neither does anything of ours.

04

No judgement about a student reaches anyone until a person has reviewed it. Nothing about your child moves on the platform's word alone.

05

It is never a confidant. It plays the world the venture lives in, and it is never allowed to become a friend; characters can express concern but never give advice.

WHO DOES WHAT

The facilitator's domain, and the platform's.

The boundary between facilitator and platform is drawn in the design, and each side holds what the other must not.

THE FACILITATOR'S DOMAIN AND THE PLATFORM'SShowing where the boundary sits, so you know who holds what: the facilitator keeps judgement, care, safety and the knowing of your child with a person, and the platform keeps the world the venture lives in.

The division of responsibility is a design choice, made deliberately: the relationship and the guidance sit with the facilitator, the content and the processing with the platform.

WHY THIS COULDN'T EXIST BEFORE

Why this couldn't exist before.

A persistent market run by hand would consume the very facilitator the room needs. Until the current generation of AI models, this could not be built at all.

None of this makes the program cheaper to run, and that was never the aim. The technology exists to make possible a kind of room that no amount of staffing could provide, with the facilitator in it kept for what only a person should do.

WHAT WE DON'T KNOW YET

What we don't know yet.

The approach is new. No cohort has finished it, no long-term evidence exists, and nothing on this page should read as if it does.

What we measure: whether decisions improve, reasoning deepens, and a student comes to own their calls.

We will be learning alongside the first families. The founding cohort shapes the program as it runs: what we see in the room, and what you tell us from home, both feed into how the next week is held.

What we are measuring is narrow and specific: whether decisions improve across a series, whether the reasoning behind them deepens, and whether a student comes to own their calls. We report what we see in plain terms.

And if it is not working for your child, we say so early, rather than waiting for you to discover it. Leaving is built to be humane, and the terms are stated plainly on the pricing page.
