FACILITATORS

Every room is supervised by a professional.

Every Nacient session has a professional facilitator in the room. This page says what that role is and what it never does, and it is written for two readers in turn: the parent who wants to know who holds the room, and the professional wondering whether this craft is theirs.

FOR THE PARENT · WHAT A FACILITATOR IS

What the facilitator in the room is for.

A facilitator isn't a teacher, because teaching is not what the room asks of them: the simulation carries the content mastery, and the facilitator carries the judgement, the presence, and the calibration. Judgement is knowing when to press on a young person's reasoning and when to leave a silence alone. Presence is holding a room of young people so the work stays serious and kind. Calibration is the practised reading of how each student is actually progressing, which anchors everything the program says about them.

THE FACILITATOR'S SEAT
01

They never mark answers. There is no answer key to mark against: the consequences do the correcting, and the facilitator presses on the reasoning instead. And when the program forms any picture of your child's capability, a facilitator's own reading anchors it before it reaches you.

02

They are there to guide your child and to keep them safe. A facilitator steadies a student when a hard consequence lands, keeps the work serious and kind, and holds the room as a place where a young person can face a real decision safely.

03

They never contact your child off the platform. Anything between a facilitator and a student happens in the room or on the platform, in view.

04

They conduct every activity through the platformSee what the platform does, and what it never does.. Students and families are never given a facilitator's personal phone number or contact details; anything that needs to reach a facilitator travels through Nacient's own channels.

FOR THE PROSPECTIVE FACILITATOR · THE CRAFT

Judgement, presence, and calibration, at a professional level.

The craft is the work of the room: pressing on a young person's reasoning without marking it, reading a room of ventures at once, knowing when a question does more than an explanation. We treat that as professional work, and we select for it, train for it, and recognise it as such.

The role grows through three grades, workshop facilitator, then senior, then principal, and the ladder doubles as the accreditation arc: each grade is earned by demonstrated craft, and each grade is recognised.

WORKSHOP SENIOR PRINCIPAL

THE LADDER IS THE ACCREDITATION ARC

The craft gives back to the professional practising it, and what it gives carries into the rest of a working life: mentoring · public speaking · responsibility for young people's growth · reading a room · calibrated feedback.

What each of these looks like in the room.
  • Mentoring, practised deliberately: pressing on a young person's reasoning without prescribing the answer, week after week.
  • Public speaking: holding a room's attention for a working afternoon, every session.
  • Responsibility for young people's growth: the program's picture of each student rests on your reading of them, and carrying that is a professional skill in its own right.
  • Reading a room: a room of ventures moves at different speeds, and you learn to see how each student is actually progressing.
  • Calibrated feedback: framing a setback honestly and kindly, so it lands as feedback rather than as a verdict.

The practical shape respects the profession you already have. Sessions are structured, scheduled, and held outside ordinary professional business hours, so the craft complements a career rather than competing with one. The work is paid at a premium for the craft it asks. And as the program grows, we expect to find more ways to recognise the people who grow with it, though we promise nothing there yet.

THE BAR

Selection is structural.

The way into this role is designed so that the craft must be shown, in a room, before it is ever trusted with one. And one commitment has no exceptions: anyone facilitating will hold a current Working With Children Check by the time workshops are facilitated.

THE INVITATION

If this reads like your craft.

Facilitation will rest with a small number of carefully chosen people: people for whom pressing on a young person's reasoning, without marking it, reads as a craft. If that sounds like yours, the door is open: hello@nacient.tech.

Tell us where you have practised the craft: the rooms you have held and the reasoning you have pressed on, in any field. And tell us why the boundaries on this page read as right to you.

Apply in writing: hello@nacient.tech, read by a person. There is no application form.
