PRIVACY STATEMENT
Privacy statement.
The formal statement of how Nacient handles personal information: numbered, defined, and written to be checked clause by clause. It covers what this website does, what registering interest does, what the program will do once it runs (including the parts most programs don't say out loud), and what is still being designed.
Nacient Pty Ltd · ABN 89 638 371 776 · PRE-PILOT EDITION · DATED 16 JULY 2026
1. Who we are
This statement is issued by Nacient Pty Ltd (ABN 89 638 371 776), operating in Australia.
General enquiries reach a person at hello@nacient.tech.
A concern of any kind, including about a child's safety or data, goes to concern@nacient.tech and is read by a person.
2. Definitions
The defined terms this statement uses, clauses 2.1 to 2.8.
In this statement, "personal information" means information or an opinion about an identified individual, or an individual who is reasonably identifiable.
"This site" means these web pages: a static website with no accounts and no form other than the expression-of-interest form.
A "registration" means the name and email address an adult submits through the expression-of-interest form.
"The program" means Nacient's judgement-forming program for young people, which has not yet enrolled its first student.
"The simulation" means the software environment in which a student runs their venture between sessions.
"The capability record" means the private picture of a learner's developing capability that the program builds and holds for teaching.
"De-identified" describes information from which identity has been removed, so that no individual is reasonably identifiable from it.
"The OAIC" means the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
3. This website
This site is static. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics, loads no trackers, and makes no third-party requests of any kind.
Reading this site tells us nothing about you.
The only information that ever leaves your browser is what you choose to type into the expression-of-interest form; clause 4 states exactly what happens to it.
4. Registering interest: collection, use and retention
The form collects your name and email address, nothing else.
We use a registration for exactly one purpose: starting the founding-cohort conversation you asked for. It is not entered into a marketing database, scored, or shared with anyone.
The form is for adults. We do not knowingly collect a child's details at registration, and we ask you not to include them; the conversation itself is where we will talk about your young person.
A registration is sent as a structured email to signup@nacient.tech and held in Nacient's company email system, nowhere else.
We keep a registration for up to 24 months, long enough to hold your place while the founding cohort runs.
Ask at hello@nacient.tech and your registration is deleted within 30 days.
5. When the program runs: collection, use and disclosure
The program has no students yet. Clauses 5 to 7 state the commitments the platform is designed to meet, written down now so you can hold us to them; they will be expanded before the first cohort begins.
The program collects the minimum a session needs to run: who the student is, how to reach you, and the state of their venture.
We never show a student their capability as scores or marks, and never use it to compare students publicly.
No AI provider ever learns who a student is: the simulation runs against an opaque identifier, and the link between that identifier and a real name lives in a separate, hardened store.
No external AI model is ever trained on student work. Any AI provider we use must clear a children's-data eligibility bar: a contractual commitment not to train on student data, no retention beyond processing, and data residency compatible with Australian law.
The program builds the capability record deliberately; it is the pedagogy itself, because it is how the simulation meets a student where they are. The capability record is held for teaching, pseudonymised, and access-tiered; it is never shown to the student as a score and never published or ranked.
What a student writes inside the simulation is checked for safety: a concern in a student's words routes to a person, and is never answered from inside the fiction.
Anything generated that reaches a student first passes a safety ceiling.
Parents receive considered reports about their child, never raw internal records.
6. Storage and security
All program hosting is in Australia (Sydney), with data residency enforced by policy.
A registration is held in Nacient's company email system (clause 4.4). Student identity is separated from working data (clause 5.4), and every AI provider must clear the eligibility bar (clause 5.5).
7. Access, correction and deletion
Ask at hello@nacient.tech to see what we hold about you or your family, or to correct it.
Deletion is yours to ask for: a registration is deleted within 30 days (clause 4.6), and once the program runs, a student's personal content and identifying records are deleted on request.
Deletion, honestly: a de-identified record of developing capability is retained. We say that plainly rather than promise a full erasure we couldn't honestly deliver.
8. Complaints
A concern of any kind goes to concern@nacient.tech and is read by a person.
If we do not resolve a privacy concern to your satisfaction, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (the OAIC), whose website is oaic.gov.au. We would rather you told us first, but that route is yours regardless.
9. Automated decision-making
From December 2026, Australian privacy law introduces transparency obligations for automated decision-making. The simulation adapts to each student; that is automation touching a child, and we treat it as squarely inside the spirit of those obligations.
Before those obligations commence, this statement will set out which decisions the platform automates, what they draw on, and where a human sits in each. This clause is the placeholder that commitment stands on, written 16 July 2026.
10. What is still being designed
Report formats, retention periods for operational records, and the full provider list are still being designed.
Before the first cohort, this statement will be expanded to cover them and externally reviewed.
11. This edition
This is the pre-pilot edition of Nacient's privacy statement, dated 16 July 2026. It describes a program that has not yet enrolled its first student.
It will be reviewed by counsel before enrolment opens.
If anything here reads as unclear or evasive, tell us at hello@nacient.tech, because plainness is the point.
Do we keep notes about the people who write to us?
Yes, a few, and only the kind that helps us handle your correspondence well. When you write to us we may record that you are a parent, a school, or a supplier, a scheduling preference you have told us about, whether you have asked us not to receive marketing, and whether you have said we may use your feedback publicly. Where it protects you or the families we serve, we may also record that a complaint was made and whether it has been resolved, and that an address was once used for a scam attempt. Each note is short and factual, and we write it ourselves. We never copy sentences from your messages into our notes, and we never use them for marketing, for profiling, or for training any artificial intelligence.
If you ask us to delete your data, one request is enough: your notes are deleted together with your correspondence. Two kinds of note are deliberately kept even then, because keeping them protects you. One records that you asked us not to be contacted, which we must remember in order to honour it. The other records that an address was involved in impersonation, abuse, or a scam attempt, and it stays whether we noticed the problem ourselves or you reported it to us. If you would like to know what we hold about you, ask us at the same address and you will receive a complete answer.
